This evening session is designed to assess teaching styles, explore adult education philosophies and lastly to examine how adults learn best. You will have the opportunity, using Conti’s Principles of Adult Learning Scale, to assess whether your teaching style tends to be more teacher-centred, more learner-centred or somewhere in between. In addition, you will have a chance to assess if your educational philosophy and your teaching style align. The last part of the evening will be an exploration of strategies to help move from teacher-centred to learner-centred, based on adult learning principles.
